BMP2022 News

Brendan Merry & Partners are delighted to report the completion of the Breast Care Clinic at Beaumont Hospital. The three-storey building is located adjacent the RCSI Building on the hospital ring road and has a Gross Floor Area of 1,100 Sq.m.

New diagnostic imaging facilities are located on the ground floor including ultrasound and biopsy rooms. The Unit also includes two new 3D tomosynthesis mammography machines which offer significant advances in cancer detection. The first floor includes eight consultation rooms and counselling services for patients diagnosed with breast cancer. The second floor comprises a Clinical Trials and Research Unit including specialist nurse facilities and administration.

The Main Contractor appointed on the project was Felix O’Hare & Co. Ltd under the direction of Moloney O’Beirne Architects. Brendan Merry & Partners provided Full Quantity Surveying Services on the project. The project commenced in June 2020 and was completed in March 2022. This project was delivered in unprecedented and challenging times during the Covid-19 pandemic and credit is due to all involved.

The project is the brainchild of Consultant Breast Surgeon, Professor Arnie Hill who has been guiding the development of a first-class breast service at Beaumont Hospital since 2006. Senator David Norris and Professor Hill have been on the frontline of Beaumont Hospital Foundation’s fundraising appeal to raise the much-needed funds for the project.

Brendan Merry & Partners wish Professor Hill, Dr. Deirdre Duke and all the wonderful staff every success in their new facility. As one of eight designated cancer centres in Ireland the service they offer is extraordinary.
