July 2021 – Reinstatement Valuations

BMP2021 News

BMP have continued to be appointed to new commissions to prepare reinstatement valuations for various Client bodies. We recently carried out valuations for a number of listed buildings in Sligo which included the magnificent Sligo Cathedral (The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception) and Mount Oliver Convent & Nursing Home in Co. Louth.

In the past ten years we have surveyed and valued many Cathedrals, Churches and prominent listed buildings the length and breadth of the country from Cobh to Cavan and Letterkenny to Kilkenny. Reinstatement Valuations for such buildings are very much about striking a balance between old and new and making sure the reinstatement is an equivalent interpretation of the loss although not necessarily on a “like for like” basis. Replacement of 18th century artifacts and commissions in many cases is impossible such stained glass, marble sculptures, artwork, etc. which cannot be replicated. In these circumstances artisans of exceptional quality are commissioned to provide artwork of a similar nature.

We also currently carry out Reinstatement Valuations for a number property portfolios, these include Davy Investment Managers, Allianz Insurance, Spiritans Ireland, Educational Bodies and various Church Diocese of Ireland. Our total valuations on properties to date is in excess of 1 Billion Euro.
