Brendan Merry and Partners were appointed as part of a very experienced design team including McCullough Mulvin Architects, O’Connor Sutton Cronin Engineers and JV Tierney to provide accommodation for over 250 students at Victoria Cross in Cork.
The location is ideally located close to the University Campus and will help address the significant deficit of student accommodation in the area and will be of strategic importance as the college seeks to offer places in dedicated student accommodation centres for first-years and all international students.
The project is progressing well and currently the team have completed development Stage 2A and the proposed scheme has gone in for planning permission. We would hope that this steady progress is maintained and that accommodation would be complete and ready for students by the summer of 2019.
