January 2017 – Herberton Complex- Temporary Office Fit Out

With St. James’s Hospital campus chosen as the preferred location for the New Children’s Hospital, a decant programme was put in place to temporally relocate the National Paediatric Hospital Development Board (NPHDB) offices and staff to a neighbouring site, off campus, to facilitate the planning and construction of the new Hospital.

This temporary development consisted of the full Office fit-out of an existing 1500sq.m. ground floor shell and core unit within the Herberton complex. Works commenced in August 2016 and substantial completion was achieved 4 months later in November 2016.

The design team for the project was led by Moloney O’Beirne Architects assisted by J.V. Tierney (Services) and ourselves Brendan Merry & Partners (Cost Management). The Main Contractor for the works was Precision Construction Ltd. The project was completed on programme and within budget which is a credit to all involved considering the very challenging programme involved.
