New School Project in Cork

Works commenced this month on 1,800 sq.m. Fit-Out of an existing Office Unit in the Fota Retail and Business Park in Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork. The two storey fit-out will accommodate a temporary 8 classroom Secondary School on behalf of the Department of Education &Skills. Ancillary rooms include Woodwork/Technology Room, Metalwork Room, Science Laboratory, Arts, Craft &Design Room, Tech Graphic’s and Home Economics Room. There will also be two external ball courts and an external play area.

The proposed programme sees the works being complete to enable the School to open its doors for the new term in September 2016. This time table represents a significant challenge to Design Team and Contractor but works have commenced at pace over the past few weeks and it is hoped to keep this tempo up for the entire construction period – summer holidays cancelled this year!
